Rediscovering Yourself After Breast Cancer

You're Not Lost. You're Still Becoming

Sometimes, after breast cancer treatment, you may look at yourself and realize that things have changed. Your body might feel different, and your priorities may have shifted. As you navigate this journey of breast cancer recovery, you might find that what once seemed important doesn't matter as much anymore. At times, you may miss the woman you were before cancer, and I completely understand that feeling.

But here's something to consider: what if rediscovering yourself isn't about returning to who you used to be? What if it’s more about embracing your post-treatment identity and getting to know the woman you are today? You have undergone experiences that have profoundly changed your life. Give yourself permission to explore what this means for you.

Tonight, reflect on these three questions:

🦋 What brings me joy today?

🦋 What have I learned about myself throughout this journey?

🦋 What is one thing I want to experience, explore, or try?

There’s no need to have all the answers right away; self-discovery is a gradual process. Remember, cancer is an experience you went through—it doesn’t define who you are. You are still a woman filled with dreams, interests, talents, and a future brimming with possibilities. You are more than your diagnosis; you are still in the process of becoming.
